Gymnastics Bars for Kids

Give them somewhere to train that isn't the sofa. Every Jirox gym bar turns a room, garden or garage into a place to practise hangs, holds and pull-ups, with no club membership and no trip across town. Each one is freestanding, so there's no wall fixing or drilling. Set it up in minutes, fold it flat when the session's done, and use it indoors or out.

Every bar in the range shares the same steel frame and powder coat finish, built to hold up to 63.5kg so it keeps up as your child grows from age 3 to 12. Unfolded, each one measures 149 x 98.5 x 132cm, with plenty of room to swing safely. Choose from pink or blue, with or without the mat.

All of our bars comes with hanging handles, gymnastics hand grips, bar grip tape, wristbands, a head cushion and all the fixings, plus an instructions manual. Nothing extra to buy before the first session. And every order is covered by free next day delivery, a 30 day return and a 1 year month warranty.

Recommended for ages 3 to 12, for domestic use under adult supervision. Inspect the frame regularly before use and keep to the 63.5kg maximum capacity, the same as you would with any home gym equipment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Before you buy

Is a gymnastics bar good home gym equipment for kids?

Yes, a freestanding gymnastics bar is one of the simplest pieces of home gym equipment for kids because it doesn't need any wall fixing or permanent setup. Ours folds flat when it's not in use, sets up in a couple of minutes, and works indoors or outside. With a 63.5kg capacity and a steel frame, it's built for the hangs, holds and pull-ups kids progress through between ages 3 and 12.

What's the difference between a gymnastics bar and parallel bars?

A gymnastics bar is a single horizontal bar, used for hangs, holds, swings and pull-ups one at a time, the more common starting point for home use. Parallel bars are two bars set side by side, used mainly for support work and dips. Jirox gym bars are a single freestanding horizontal bar, not a parallel-bar setup.

What age is the bar suitable for?

Recommended for ages 3–12, with the 63.5kg weight limit as the real determining factor rather than age alone.

Getting set up

Do I need the mat, or can I use the bar on carpet?

The mat's a non-slip landing surface for hard flooring. On carpet it's optional, though most parents add it for softer falls while a child is still learning.

How much space does it need?

Unfolded, it measures 149 x 98.5 x 132cm. Give it clearance on all sides for swinging, then fold it flat once the session's done.

Does it work outside?

Yes, the frame's built for indoor and outdoor use alike. It just isn't a permanent fixture, so it's not left out in the weather long-term.
